Using Blended Learning Resources to Enhance or Start Project Based Learning
Together with interactive technology and authentic projects, this workshop with take a deep dive into EVERFI’s digital lessons [which are completely FREE of Cost] as they pertain to PBL. Using the digital content, educators will discover how student-led mini-lessons can serve as a stepping or jumping off point for inquiry based activities. Together we will tie together and complete a project aligned to each digital resource. Digital content includes the following resources:
Vault – Understanding Money [Upper Elementary Teachers, Guidance Counselors]
Introduces financial concepts and vocabulary early in a child’s cognitive development. Vault immerses students in real-life financial scenarios that focus on skill building and responsible decision making, covering everything from saving to making a budget.
MassMutual FutureSmart [Middle School Social Studies, Technology, Guidance, Math, Career Exploration]
Practicalities of daily financial decisions, and the payoffs of long-term planning. As the mayor of the town, students must weigh opportunity costs to delay instant gratification for long-term gain.
Venture-Entrepreneurial Expedition [High School Business, Social Studies, Guidance, Technology, CTE, Entrepreneurship]
Students start their own food truck business, and learn to write a business plan, hire a team, hone their pitch, and balance a budget in the process. Tacos anyone?

Each lesson focuses on the scientific and engineering practices while taking a behind the scenes look of STEM careers and STEM within sports.
