Maker Mondays! Hacking Webcams to Create Micro and Macroscopes
June 4 @ 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
ABOUT MAKER MONDAYS!
How can we support students in becoming creators of technology, rather than mere passive consumers of it? This question will lie at the heart of Maker Mondays!, a new workshop series offered by the Allegheny Intermediate in Spring 2018. In these highly interactive workshops, participants will be provided with resources and supports to dissect readily-available technologies and hack them together to remix, repurpose, or even create something entirely new.
Hacking Webcams to Create Micro and Macroscopes:
In this workshop, participants will construct microscopes and microscopes using nothing more than an inexpensive webcam (under $10) and found objects. With these devices hooking directly into a computer, they are ideal for creating incredible art videos.
This workshop has been inspired by the work of Erin Riley, a maker educator and FabLab facilitator at Greenwhich Academy in Connecticut.
Supplies will be provided free of charge.
