February 9 @ 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Cost | Free

Event DescriptionVirtual reality headsets hit the mass market less than 2 years ago, which has created buzz around how this new technology can be integrated into classroom instruction.  This workshop is designed to provide educators of any content area a foundational understanding of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality technologies. Collectively, we will critically analyze how this technology can be thoughtfully infused into instruction and co-design immersive and engaging learning experiences.

Technologies that will be explored include the Google Cardboard, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, along with exploring new headsets that are expected to be released this fall.

Who Should Attend? | This workshop is designed for teachers and educational technologist that are interested in learning more about virtual reality hardware and software and would like to explore the thoughtful integration of this new technology.  Although all are welcome, this workshop is designed as an introductory session for those with little to no experience with VR.
