Event Description | In this session, you’ll have an opportunity to try different web-based and tablet-enabled assistive technology tools to support reading, writing, language, and communication. In this session, participants will be exposed to 25+ different apps and explore how they can integrate these tools into their instruction. Apps and software that will be discussed include Proloquo2Go, Speak for Yourself, Assistive Express, Verbally, Keedogo, Skitch, Notability, Dragon Dictation, Read&Write, Book Creator and more.
Background | The Appy Hour series is an informal, half-day workshop that takes place each month around a content-area or instructional theme. Often teacher-led, these sessions are designed to provide participants exposure to numerous free or inexpensive mobile applications, followed by time to explore how the applications can be integrated into classroom instruction.
